Bonetta Refer a Friend Program: Terms and Conditions

The short version

Refer a friend. When they subscribe and pay for their first month, you get a month of Bonetta free. Every person you sign up is another free month, up to 13 in a calendar year, which is a full year of chocolate. You need an active subscription of your own to earn them and to use them. The full rules are below.

1. What the program is

The Bonetta Refer a Friend Program lets active Bonetta subscribers earn free months of their own subscription by referring new customers. It is run for us by Social Snowball, which issues your referral link and tracks who signs up through it. By taking part you agree to these terms, to our Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.

The program is a promotional offer. It is not an employment, agency, partnership or franchise relationship, and it does not make you a representative of Bonetta.

2. Who can take part

You can take part if you:

  • are 18 or over
  • live in the United States and have a US shipping address
  • have an active Bonetta subscription that is paid up to date
  • have one account, in your own name, with a valid payment method on file

Employees, contractors and founders of Serona Inc., and members of their households, are not eligible. Anyone taking part in a separate Bonetta affiliate, ambassador or creator program earns under that program's terms instead, not this one. You cannot earn twice on the same order.

We can decline or remove anyone from the program at any time.

3. How to refer someone

Log in to your account and open the referral section to get your unique referral link and code. Share it with people you actually know. When someone uses your link or code to start a subscription, Social Snowball attributes that sign-up to you.

Attribution is last touch, within 30 days of the click on your link. If someone clicks more than one referral link, the most recent one gets credit. Social Snowball's records are what we use to decide what has been earned, and those records are final.

4. What counts as a qualified referral

A referral is qualified when all of the following are true:

  1. The person is new to Bonetta. They have never bought from us or held a subscription with us before, under any name, email address or payment method.
  2. They ordered from Bonetta using your referral link or code.
  3. They paid for their first order for no lower than $80.
  4. The payment has cleared.
  5. Thirty days have passed since that payment, and in that time the order has not been refunded, cancelled, charged back or disputed, and the product has not been returned.
  6. They are not you, and they are not at your address, on your payment method, or in your household.

The 30 day wait exists because new customers are covered by our 30 day money-back guarantee. A referral qualifies once that window has closed.

5. What you earn

One free month for every person you sign up. A free month means four weeks of your subscription covered, which is one pouch, 28 squares, one a day.

  • Free months accumulate. Five qualified referrals is five free months, so your next five months are covered.
  • Maximum of 13 free months per calendar year, which is a full year of chocolate. Free months count towards the year in which the referral qualifies, and you cannot bank several years' worth in one go. If you reach 13 in a year, you stop earning until January.
  • Free months apply only to your own subscription. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, credit, a refund or a different product, and cannot be sold, gifted or transferred to another account.
  • Free months are not money, not store credit and not a debt we owe you. They exist only while this program is running and while Bonetta is trading. If we end the program, or if Bonetta stops trading, unused free months lapse.

When you reach 13 free months in a year. Referring at that level makes you one of our best advocates, and a different program likely suits you better. We may invite you to apply to the Bonetta Ambassador Program, which pays cash commission on the orders you refer rather than free product. Applying is your choice and acceptance is not automatic. The Ambassador Program has its own terms, you cannot take part in both at the same time, and free months earned here do not convert into commission or cash.

6. How free months are applied and delivered

Free months cover a period of your subscription. We will not bill you for the periods they cover, either by skipping the relevant billing cycles or by moving your renewal date forward four weeks for each free month you have earned. When your free months run out, your subscription carries on at your normal plan and price. It does not cancel, and you do not need to restart it.

We decide how the chocolate itself is delivered. We may send it with your normal deliveries, all in one shipment, in batches of three, or on any other schedule we choose, and we may change that from one reward to the next. You cannot request a particular schedule, and the schedule we pick does not change how many free months you have earned. We may round the timing of a free month to fit your billing dates.

7. Staying eligible

You must have an active, paid, up to date subscription both when a referral qualifies and when your free months are applied.

  • If your payment fails: free months are held until your subscription is back in good standing.
  • If you pause: earned free months are held for 60 days from the date you pause and resume with your next delivery. Anything unused after 60 days is forfeited.
  • If you cancel: unused free months are forfeited immediately, and referrals that had not yet qualified stop counting. If you subscribe again later you start from zero, and forfeited free months do not come back.
  • If you switch plans: unused free months carry over and cover the equivalent period on your new plan.

8. Referrals that do not count

We will not credit a referral where:

  • the referred person has bought from Bonetta before, in any form, including a one-off purchase or a gift
  • they did not pay for their first month at $80 or above, whether because of a discount beyond the advertised first-order price, a stacked promotional code, or a first payment below $80
  • the order was refunded, cancelled, charged back, disputed or returned within the 30 day window
  • the sign-up came from you, someone at your address, someone on your payment method or someone in your household
  • the account details look manufactured, for example disposable email addresses, small variations of one email address, or several accounts sharing an address or card
  • the referral came through activity that section 9 does not allow

Referral links and codes cannot be combined with other promotional codes or offers unless we say so in writing.

9. How you may and may not promote Bonetta

You may: share your link in your own social posts, in messages to friends, family and colleagues, in your newsletter to people who chose to hear from you, and in person.

You may not:

  • run paid advertising of any kind using your referral link, or bid on "Bonetta", "Serona" or close variants in search advertising, without our written permission
  • post your code on coupon, deal, cashback, voucher or discount aggregator sites, or in browser extensions
  • send unsolicited bulk email, SMS, DMs or comment spam, or post to bought or scraped lists. All email you send must comply with CAN-SPAM and all messaging with the TCPA
  • present yourself as Bonetta, or as an employee, doctor or spokesperson for Bonetta, or use an email address, handle or page that suggests you are us
  • register domain names, social handles or app listings containing our brand names
  • resell Bonetta product on Amazon, eBay, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Facebook Marketplace or anywhere else
  • write or solicit fake reviews or fake testimonials
  • create accounts, orders or referrals on someone else's behalf or without their knowledge

Claims about the product. Bonetta is a supplement. When you talk about it, stick to what is on the pack and on our website. Do not say or suggest that Bonetta diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any disease or condition, do not promise weight loss, muscle gain or any medical or clinical outcome, and do not present yourself as giving medical advice. Do not make claims about creatine, vitamins or GLP-1 medications beyond the wording we publish.

Disclosure. You get free chocolate for referring people, so US law treats that as a material connection you have to disclose. Whenever you post your link or code publicly, say clearly and near the link that you get a reward, for example "I get a free month if you subscribe through my link" or "#ad". A disclosure buried in a bio, in a hashtag pile or behind a "more" link is not enough.

Our brand. You may use the brand assets we give you, as we give them to you, to promote Bonetta. You do not get any other right to our name, logo, images or copy, and any right you do have ends when your participation ends.

10. Fraud and abuse

If we believe a referral, an account or any promotional activity breaks these terms or is designed to work around them, we can, at our discretion and without notice:

  • withhold or cancel unused free months
  • remove referrals from your total, including ones already counted
  • remove you from the programme and close your account
  • charge you the standard price of any subscription period already covered by a free month
  • recover the value of anything obtained through fraud

We do not have to explain our reasoning in detail, and our decision is final.

11. Tax

Free months of a subscription have a retail value, and depending on where you live and how much you receive, they may count as taxable income. Any tax is your responsibility. If the total retail value of what you receive in a calendar year reaches the US reporting threshold, we may need to collect a completed Form W-9 from you before applying any more free months, and we may have to issue you a tax form. If you do not provide the information we need, we can pause or end your rewards.

12. Privacy

To run the program we share limited information with Social Snowball and our fulfilment partners, and we can see that a referred order came through your link. We do not give you your referred friend's personal details. Handle other people's contact details lawfully, and do not add anyone to a list or send them anything they have not agreed to receive. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

13. Changes and ending the program

We can change these terms, change what a referral earns, change the caps or end the program at any time. We will post the updated terms with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will apply from the date they are posted. If we end the programme, we will honor free months you have already earned, provided your subscription stays active and in good standing and Bonetta is still trading.

If you break these terms we can end your participation immediately. You can leave the program at any time by contacting us, and unused free months are forfeited when you do.

14. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Rewards are void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. Failing to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the program.
